4 Easy Steps
Your Knead Journal generates a personalised sourdough timeline, from start to finish. Make notes on each project or step, so you can learn from every bake and replicate your best loaves.

Sourdough Timing is Hard
Getting the Timing Right
Sourdough fermentation is time-sensitive. Mess up the window and you're either under-proofed or over-proofed — and you won't know until you've already baked.
Calculating Backwards
Figuring out when to feed your starter, when to shape, when to refrigerate. It's a maths puzzle that eats up your headspace every single bake.
Life Happens!
A meeting runs long. The kids need dinner. Then suddenly you've lost track of where you're at and whether you've missed a critical window.
How Knead Journal Works
Choose your flour & target bake time
Tell Knead Journal what flour you're using and when you want to pull the loaf from the oven.
Your timeline is built automatically
Knead Journal calculates every step backwards from your bake time, accounting for fermentation, shaping, proofing, and your sleep hours.
Follow along and check off steps
Work through your live timeline, check off each step as you go, and reschedule on the fly if life gets in the way.
Built for Bakers
Smart Scheduling
Builds your entire baking timeline backwards from your target bake time. Adjusting steps to avoid your sleep times.
4 Flour Types
Dedicated timelines for white, wholemeal, rye, and gluten-free loaves. Each calibrated to the right fermentation windows.
Live Step Tracking
Check off each step as you go. Fell behind or something too longer? Reschedule the rest of the timeline with a single tap.
Project History
Make notes and revisit past projects to see what worked, what didn't, and replicate your best loaves.
“I always struggled with timing my sourdough around work and the kids. Knead Journal just takes care of it — I tell it when I want to bake and it tells me everything else. It’s honestly a game changer.”
